SUMMARY OF THE INAUGURAL CONFERENCE (CQRM2025)
On Wednesday May 21, 2025, we held the first Quebec IBD Research Conference (CQRM2025). During this day, we brought together gastroenterologists, surgeons, allied health professionals, basic researchers, graduate students and trainees in basic and clinical medicine, funders, patient support groups, industry representatives, and patient partners. Bringing together 100 people passionate about IBD research and treatment from across Quebec is certainly an achievement of which we can be collectively very proud.
Participants at CQRM2025 came from 13 Quebec research institutions (Université de Montréal, Université de Sherbrooke, CR-CHUS, IRCM, HSCM, CR-CHUQ, ICM, CR-CHUM, CIUSSS-SLSJ, INRS, McGill University, UQTR, UQAM) and three from abroad (Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard, Boston; Mount Sinai School of Medicine, NYC; Cornell University, Ithaca).
This conference received financial support from Takeda, Abbvie, Johnson & Johnson, Celltrion, Pfizer, Merck, Olink, CR-CHUM, Génome Québec, and CR-CHUS. The excellence of the presentations and discussions throughout the day also testifies to the breadth and depth of our field in Quebec.

OBJECTIVES
- Create an annual forum for scientific exchange and collaborations for researchers across Quebec with an interest in Crohn’s Disease and Ulcerative Colitis.
- Provide trainees and early career faculty with networking and mentorship opportunities.
HIGHLIGHTS
- Plenary talks by international inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) researchers
- Invited talks by Quebec leaders in IBD research, as well as key stakeholders
- An opportunity for all conference participants (maximum of 100 participants for the 2025 edition) to present their work via oral (selected from abstracts) or e-poster presentations
